Elder Hunter May

Elder Hunter May's First Week at the MTC

I have put together a video of Hunter's setting apart, departure to MTC and first week at the MTC.  The song is from Hunter's farewell - the YM/YW of Power Ranch 2nd Ward sang.

The first link is the pictures/song.

The second link is Hunter's farewell talk.

The third link is the video we showed at Hunter's open house.
It is a collection of pictures from 2007 - present

My Heavenly Father Loves Me

Of all the songs in the Primary songbook, the song "My Heavenly Father Loves Me" (CS p.228) is my all time favorite.  I remember the first time I heard it.  When I was very young, I remember my Grandma Hadlock signing it for me as we were walking to the park for a picnic.  I loved how it talked about the birds, flowers and trees and being grateful for all that I had.  That memory has always been a very special one for me.  I don't think I realized until I was older the true meaning of the song until I was much older and especially now that I have children of my own.  All the beautiful things of this world are gifts from a Heavenly Father who loves us.  I think that recognizing all the small simple things to be grateful for can be challenging but this song always helps to remind me.

You can imagine my delight when I realized that this song is part of the Primary Program - 2013.  We are learning it this month so in my preparation I am looking for different ways to introduce the song to my Primary kiddos.  I came across this beautiful rendition of the song where a young blind boy is playing this song on the piano.  I was so touched that I wanted to share.  I am not sure if this is the way that I am going to introduce the song but nevertheless I wanted to share it.  Enjoy!

Hunter turns 19!

Hunter turns 19 and celebrates in the MTC
Happy, happy birthday Hunter dear!  I can't believe that this handsome amazing boy/man turns 19 today.  And he celebrates in the MTC.  I can't believe that he is old enough to be in the mission field.  I am so proud of him and for his choices.  We hadn't heard from him until today. I have been having a very difficult time with his leaving and was praying/reading scriptures in sacrament meeting.  During my reading, my phone buzzed indicating a new mail message.  After the sacrament ended, I looked at my messages and saw an email from Elder Hunter May letting me know who happy he is to be in the MTC and that he is already having wonderful experiences.  I felt like it was an answer to my prayers and the Lord granted me a tender mercy to know that our "little boy" was doing so well and happy with his decision.
Hunter's entrance into this world made me a mom which was all I ever wanted to be.  I was connected to him from the moment I found out I was pregnant and I have had special connection with him since then.  I hope he has a wonderful birthday today and I can't wait to get my next email from him.  I love him and love that he has made the choice to serve a mission.

Hunter's Farewell

I am so humbled and blessed.  We had such a beautiful sacrament meeting yesterday, Sunday, January 20, 2013.  Hunter gave his farewell talk and it was so incredible.  We are so proud of him and his choice to go on a mission.  Plus all the YM and YW from our ward sang the "EFY Medley" which was so beautiful.  I appreciate them all so much especially Hayden and Bryson for helping get the song arranged and together.  We spent the day surrounded by family, friends, leaders, and all those who have helped shape Hunter's life and continue to show love and support for him.

I did record Hunter's talk and hope to post the audio later today on his blog (elderhuntermay.blogspot.com).  Additionally, I plan to post a copy of his talk as well.  Pictures forthcoming too.

That's right - 9 days, 3 hours, 27 minutes and 25 seconds before Hunter leaves on his mission.  We have dropped into single digit days.  We are really close to being ready from a planning prospective.  From an emotional stand point... not so much!  We took him to the temple this past week to take out his endowment which was beautiful and so special.  But it makes him leaving all the more real.  He is truly going to be missed.

Elder May has a blog...
