My Husband and My Boys' Dad - When I first met Brian, I was right out of high school and he was in one of my college classes at Mesa Community College. We were friends and started dating a short while later. Watching him with my little sister, Allyson, who at the time was 10 and my little brother, Jared, who at the time was 8, I knew he would be a great father one day. He would play with them and joke with them. I remember one time him hiding in our pantry playing hide-n-seek with them. Jared kept asking me where he was even though you could see his feet under the pantry door.
When Hunter was born, Brian stepped right into fatherhood like he was made for that calling. I remember being so in awe with how he took care of Hunter all through the night. He would do ALL of the night time feedings because that was his bonding time with his baby boy and he loved every minute of it. He did this with all three of our boys and he has often commented on how special this time was for him.
He is a great father and a great dad to his boys. He loves that the things that they love and has been introduced to things that I don't think he anticipated ever trying but is so involved with what they are doing that it never crosses his mind to not be interested. I could not ask for a better example for our boys in what a man is suppose to be as well as what a loving father and husband is. I love you more than you will ever know and more than I ever thought possible. Thank you for choosing me to be the mom of your boys. Happy Father's Day!!.jpg)
My Dad and My Boys' Grampy - One of the things I love most about my dad is his laugh. I remember as a little girl hearing him laugh at shows from the other room. His laughter always made me feel happy and good inside. One of my favorite memories of dad is after Brian and I were married and we were watching "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. Randy Quaid plays Cousin Eddie and at some point in the movie, he comes out with a "dickie" from his tuxedo on. Dad was laughing so hard at that image that he feel off of the couch and couldn't breathe. He kept trying to say "Look at his dickie..." but couldn't get it out. We were laughing so hard - not at the show but at dad and his reaction. Now Brian nor I can watch Christmas Vacation without remember that memory.
I inherited many of my qualities from my dad - one of the is my stubborness, my need to be right and my emotional side. One thing that I did not inherit from him was the quiet calmness that surrounds him when he talks about things that are close to him or of a spiritual nature. He teaches me without even realizing it. I love you dad very much and I wish you a very Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to my two favorite men...
Memorial Day Fun!!!
One of our favorite vacations each year is going to softball tournament in Showlow. We have been going for over 8 years now and each year brings new fun and memories.
Our cabin was beautiful - we stayed at the Torreon Golf Resort with soooo many amenities. They had a great catch and release pond. We tried hard but couldn't catch any fish - even in a catch and release pond! But the boys all seemed to really enjoy themselves.
They had a gorgeous golf course that the dads played on Monday afternoon and then Brian took the boys to play on the mini-course which was perfect for them.
They were able to practice their swings without the pressure of other golfers. I even joined in on the fun!
All in all, another great time in Showlow! See you next year!
