One More Week...

Are you so excited?!?!?

Be My Valentine!

I never think I love the holiday of Valentine's day because I think that everyday should be a demonstration of our love for those around us but then the day gets here and I get suckered in like all the other poor saps of the world.  I will admit that we have not always been great at the Valentine's day thing either - usually due to expectations and hoopla but my cute husband was pretty great this Valentine's day.  He asked me out for a date for Friday night (no really, he called me on the phone and asked if I wanted to go out with him on Friday - I know, he is so romantic).  He didn't tell me where we were going or even that we were "doubling" with Kyle and Allyson.  I found out we were doubling when Allyson emailed and asked me what we were doing.  We went to dinner at a new restaurant at San Tan mall called Brio.  Never would have tried it but oh my gosh, it is fantastic!  And it is beautiful on the inside - you wouldn't know by the street.  After dinner, we went to the Hale Theater to watch a comedy.  Again, never in a million years would I have selected the show, but it was actually super funny and ended up being really good. I never thought he had anything else planned for actual Valentine's day!  But I was wrong...

Yesterday, the UPS driver brought me a new iPhone.  Brian bought me one because I am the only one with a iPod Nano that is pretty outdated and I have been wanting a iTouch but the iPhone just came out onto Verizon and he actually snagged me one.  For once, our boys are so jealous of my new toy.  I am not at all good at navigating the thing but Hunter and Hayden have been so great about helping me get around in it.  You would think that this was all - but wait... there is more!  We went to the Apple store to get a case and running armband for my new toy.  It was pretty late so we thought we could grab dinner somewhere like my favorite The Keg.  But they were swamped so we went back to Brio and it was unbelievably good again.

I think that I am a very lucky girl to be married to someone who still tries to go out of his way to make me feel special and loved.  We have bumps along the way and life isn't perfect but I am grateful every day that he is my forever Valentine!
